I think it depends on the person. Often, simply the fact that you show interest, you show up in meetings and vote with your feet, means a huge deal to somebody. Or that you poke them to speak publicly to show off their stuff. Or you encourage them to talk to a person they can build a partnership with. Or that they feel an open-door policy to come find you when they need to bounce ideas!
